Condominiums are the easiest buy for a foreigner; the next best is a lease of 30 years with option for another 30 years. Most lease contracts have the second and third 30 years already signed and paid for in separate contracts, which makes it a good choice to a buy.
If you want to own a property in Phuket, this is at the moment the easiest way to own an apartment, house or land.
The law may change over time, you may keep the option open to change the lease agreement to an ownership, this can be done in most cases with an agreement trough a lawyer.
